Together we can stop child abuse in Alexandria.
The Center for Alexandria's Children works to prevent and respond to child abuse, in a unique public-private partnership with the City. We support victimized children and their families in times of need, as well as help vulnerable families raise strong children who are ready for success in school and life.
Detectives, social workers, prosecutors and mental health professionals collaborate through our nationally accredited Children's Advocacy Center, to conduct child-centered investigations that reduces their trauma. Our Learn and PlayGroups strengthen families and young children through a specialized curriculum aimed at enhancing protective factors, while our outreach and education efforts help our community protect children every day.
Our 2015 SPRING2ACTION Campaign will enable us to replenish a vital resource for the children and families we serve: our Clothing Closet and Victim's Crisis Fund. Both of these are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to any victim child or family. These emergency resources promote health and healing from incidents of reported child abuse, while also fulfilling practical needs of victimized families. They can replace clothing and items taken for investigative purposes, secure comfort items, and fill basic needs during short-term crisis, even during the middle of the night.
Your dollars will ensure that children whose lives are interrupted by violence can find comfort, healing and help.
