The Torpedo Factory Art Center's mission is to foster connections among artists and the public that ignite the creative spirit.
In 1974, a group of pioneering artists converted part of a forgotten, dilapidated factory into artist studios. What was supposed to be a three year experiment turned into a 40-year-old cultural landmark.
Today, the Torpedo Factory Art Center is not only an anchor of Alexandria’s riverfront, it is also home to the largest number of publicly accessible working artist studios in the U.S. Even after four decades, the Torpedo Factory continues to be a prototype for other arts organizations around the world.
When you make a tax-deductible gift to the Torpedo Factory Art Center, you help us continue our mission to foster connections among artists and the public.
Currently, the Torpedo Factory welcomes more than a half million national and international visitors each year. With your generous contribution, we can continue to provide opportunities to experience art up close as well as expand our offerings.
Help us ensure that visitors will always have an opportunity to see art in person and in progress.
