What if we all gave on one day?

We can on Wednesday, April 5 for Spring2ACTion, Alexandria’s giving day. Spring2ACTion is a 24-hour online event that provides a simple way to connect donors to the charitable causes they care about most and encourages them to take action. This virtual fundraising effort, hosted by ACT with the help of generous sponsors, will offer local nonprofits the chance to raise thousands of dollars for the benefit of all Alexandria.

Last year, 8,316 donors raised $1,337,493 for 152 nonprofits serving Alexandria.

Prizes will be awarded for the following categories:

Most Donors Leaderboard

1st Place: $5,000 grant
2nd Place: $2,500 grant
3rd Place: $1,000 grant
4th Place: $500 grant
5th Place: $100 grant


Most Dollars Leaderboard

1st Place: $5,000 grant
2nd Place: $2,500 grant
3rd Place: $1,000 grant
4th Place: $500 grant
5th Place: $100 grant


Free Agent Fundraiser Leaderboard

(This leaderboard will be based on the most unique donors)

1st Place: $5,000 grant
2nd Place: $2,500 grant

Spring4ART Leaderboard, Sponsored by Maria and Harry Hopper

(This leaderboard will be based on the most unique donors. Participants must be Alexandria Arts Alliance Members.)

1st Place: $2,000 grant
2nd Place: $1,000 grant
3rd Place: $500 grant
4th Place: $250 grant
5th Place: $100 grant


ACTion Hero Prizes

Individual donors will be randomly chosen hourly from 10am-10pm, and their designated nonprofit will receive an additional $100.


Power Hours

$500 cash grants will be awarded to nonprofits reaching designated levels on the leaderboard.
Nonprofit with the most number of donors by 8am
Nonprofit with the most dollars raised by 8am
Nonprofit that “raises” the most number of donors from 11am-noon, 3-4pm, 7-8pm and 10-11pm
Nonprofit that raises the most dollars from 11am-noon, 3-4pm, 7-8pm and 10-11pm


$500 Dining Prize: You Dine, They Give

25 cents from each meal purchased at Holy Cow, Pork Barrel BBQ and Sweet Fire Donna’s will be donated to the charity of the customer’s choice on April 5. The organization with the most designations at all three of the restaurants will receive a $500 prize.


Secured Pledge Competition

A $500 prize will be awarded to the nonprofit with the most unique donors who make secured pledges from March 20 to April 4 at 11:59pm. An additional $500 prize will be awarded to the nonprofit that raises the most dollars through secured pledges made before Spring2ACTion on April 5.


First Timers Prize

$500 will be awarded to the nonprofit participating in Spring2ACTion for the first time that has the most dollars.


Rules

Who can donate during Spring2ACTion?

Any individual may donate. Donations through the Spring2ACTion site are processed by Razoo Foundation, a registered 501(c)3 charity that operates a donor advised fund to fulfill donor advisements. Donations are tax deductible and irrevocable (donations will not be refunded). Contributions may be made via credit/debit card and PayPal only.

What organizations are eligible to receive donations and Spring2ACTion prizes?

Alexandria nonprofit organizations (or nonprofits benefitting Alexandria) listed on the Spring2ACTion leader board are eligible to receive grants and prizes. Funds raised and prizes won must be directed towards Alexandria programs and services. Please note that private non-operating foundations cannot receive donations on Spring2ACTion.org or Razoo.com and are not eligible to win prizes.

How much of the donation will go to the nonprofit?

92% less $0.30 of all designated donations are received by the nonprofit. The Razoo Foundation retains 5.9% plus $0.30 of each donation for credit card processing and disbursement costs and 2.1% is retained by ACT for Alexandria for administrative expenses.To learn more, click here.

Is there a fee to participate?

There is no fee for an organization to participate in Spring2ACTion.

Is there a minimum or maximum donation?

The minimum donation is $5 and there is no maximum donation limit. Donations are tax-deductible and irrevocable (donations will not be refunded). Contribution may be made via credit and/or debit card or PayPal only.

Is there a limit to the amount an organization can receive during Spring2ACTion?

There is no maximum to the amount an organization may receive.

How can an organization receive donations?

Click here to register for Spring2ACTion. When prompted, please create an account or login to your existing account to proceed to the registration form.

How will an organization know who has donated to them?

Organizations can track donations in real-time and have access to donor names and contact information, unless the donor chooses to make an anonymous contribution.

If I am unsatisfied with my donation, can I get a refund?

No, all donations made through Spring2ACTion are final and non-refundable.

What is a unique donor?

A unique donor refers to a person who makes a donation to a nonprofit on Spring2ACTion. The goal for Spring2ACTion is to engage thousands of individuals – or unique donors - to give to Alexandria nonprofits on April 5. Each person will be counted once in our “total donors” tally that will be updated every 15 minutes on the Spring2ACTion landing page. If one person makes donations to multiple organizations, they will be counted once per organization on the leader boards.

When individuals donate for Spring2ACTion, who will receive this information?

The nonprofit organization receiving the donation will receive the contact information for the donor. As the host of Spring2ACTion, ACT for Alexandria will also receive the information to thank the donor for participating in Spring2ACTion; provide the option to opt-in to receiving notifications from ACT; and to notify the donor of future Spring2ACTion activities and updates.

What else? Any fine print?

ACT for Alexandria can modify any restrictions or conditions if, in the sole judgment of the Board of Directors, such restriction or condition becomes unnecessary, incapable of fulfillment or inconsistent with the charitable needs of the community. ACT for Alexandria reserves the right to deny or condition the distribution of prize grants if, in the judgment of its Board of Directors, such restriction or condition becomes necessary.
